If I had only one word to describe Lenny and Casey’s small and intimate wedding at the Oasis in Austin/Texas, I would choose love. I have never felt more love between a couple and their guests than I did at their wedding. Lenny and Casey were super excited and nervous to celebrate their big day. But they weren’t the only ones excited – everyone was which made us excited as well. We felt immediately welcomed by their friends and families and it was such an honor being able to celebrate their love with all of them.
We started the day with Casey and his brothers Jason and Randy in the hotel lobby to take some groomsmen photos. It was great having some time with Casey and his brothers and being able to get to know them. We could tell right away that they were a goofy bunch and that we would have a lot of fun with them that day – and trust me, they didn’t disappoint us, photobombing Lenny and Casey’s portrait time and showing off their awesome dance moves.
After arriving at The Oasis, we met with Lenny and her bridesmaids Haidy and Debanhi in the bridal suit. I’m always looking forward seeing my brides and their closest friends together. It’s so important having them around us on such a special day because they calm us down, share our excitement and take some of that nervousness away. And, of course, it’s so much fun getting ready together, helping with hair and makeup and making sure we look our absolute best. And what can I say, they did an absolute wonderful job with Lenny’s look (secretly wishing I had their styling skills … hahaha).
And then it was time to finally see Casey. A lot of couples decide against the first look but let me tell you, it’s one of the most emotional and beautiful moments of the wedding day. I was glad, that Lenny and Casey chose to have this moment, just the two of them (+ us of course), seeing each other and hugging and kisses each other before everyone else arrived. I could feel Lenny’s hands shaking walking her down the hall towards our first look location. And when they saw each other, they were speechless. It was such a raw and honest moment that it almost made me cry.
The whole wedding day at The Oasis was amazing. It was emotional and filled with happy tears, as well as love, appreciation and gratitude. We had so much fun, especially dancing with their friends on the dance floor. What I loved most about it and what their wedding helped me realize is that a wedding is not just a celebration of love; it’s a celebration of two families becoming one. It’s about celebrating each family’s traditions and creating new ones. Lenny and Casey’s parents have been huge role models for both of them. They honor and treasure their parents’ marriages so much, showing that everlasting love does exist.
Enjoy going through my favorite images from their intimate wedding. The Oasis on Lake Travis is a unique wedding venue with fantastic views. I hope you can see and feel the love and appreciation they have for each other.
Lenny and Casey, thank you sooo much for allowing us to celebrate this new chapter of your lives with you and your loved ones and for giving us the opportunity to capture the love, happy tears, hugs, kisses and dances for you.
